Laila and Bri’s Block Party

Laila Lopez found her place on the radio as soon as she was chosen out of the thousands who applied to be on the Steve Harvey Morning Show. After the Steve Harvey Morning Show ended, Laila moved to 107.9 – The Dirty Boys to continue her career.

Since then, Laila has worked for high-end platforms like Sirius XM and TMZ. Before joining the 101jamz team and finding a place to belong, she is now a co-host on “The Block Party with Laila and Bri!! Once they got together, it was easy for them to get along, and there hasn’t been a dull moment since.

Bri Ariel, who works with Laila, was born in Chicago. She started the business when she was only 15 years old. Bri was in a girl group where she had the main role. She learned quickly and was able to find her way around the business.

She went to college in Illinois and got a degree in Business Marketing and Fashion Merchandising. This made her want to work in business, so she moved to Atlanta. Once she was in Atlanta, she got a part in a short film on YouTube. This made her love for the entertainment business grow again, leading to Hollywood.

Bri bravely went to LA by herself on the west coast and got a spot on the popular podcast “IZM Radio.” Bri joined the team after being chosen by every fan of the podcast. Even though IZM was her first experience with radio, she was the missing piece that the team needed. Having energy that is real and easy to understand hooks people who are listening.

Bri aimed for the sky and kept lighting the spark. The IZM radio show led to her co-hosting not only a long-running show but also reality shows about herself and a traveling business show that focused on Black-owned businesses. Even though she started by herself in a place she didn’t know, Bri has made it one of the most wishes places to live her home through hard work and charm.

DJ Almighty plays on Smash City Radio.

DJ Almighty is another great person in the 101Jamz family. Born in Brownsville, Brooklyn, New York, and raised in the Pink House Projects in east Brooklyn. Almighty lived in New Jersey for a while until the late 1990s. In 1998, he moved to Virginia, where his dreams came true.

“I come from a family that makes noise in the streets,” he says. His music is influenced by his father, Joseph “DJ Peter Jeter” Middleton, and his uncle Gerard “The Disco,” both of whom jam on the streets of Brooklyn. The legendary DJ Watkins introduced Almighty to the hip-hop industry, especially Fat Boy’s Prince Markie D, Whodini, Salt ‘n’ Pepa Jaz-o, and Fresh Gordon. He found Spinderella by Salt n’ Pepa, but he doesn’t get enough credit.

After moving to Virginia and getting a spot on WNRN’s The Boom Box 91.9 FM in Charlottesville, VA, Almighty was able to make it on his own. Here is where he lives now, and this is where he owns and runs the radio station 101.3 Jamz. He also started the soul of the Charlottesville urban festival with friends in the city. You can follow him at @djalmighty on Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and Facebook.

THE MIX GOES ON

But what about Saturday and Sunday? I know what you are saying. Don’t worry, DJ Radio Mix Show will take care of it. Every Saturday from 9 in morning to 5 in night, DJ Ms. Carter, Coalition DJs, and Jonny Kaine (@jonny.kaine) bring the heat by playing nonstop bops. The music is new, keeping the party going all weekend long.

The Show with Chris Thomas

Not only that, but Chris Thomas will also start a new show in July 2022. Saturday morning can’t come soon enough for me. And that might be the strangest thing I’ve ever said.
